Stories of StepUp

The driving force behind StepUp Ministry is the people who are dedicated to the mission and vision and I’m so excited to start introducing those people and their stories. If there is one thing I’ve learned about StepUp, it’s that no one walks away from it the same. This organization stays true to its mission of transforming lives through employment and life skills training.

StepUp Ministry’s vision is to be the premier resource in Wake County for people seeking to improve their lives and develop stable careers. This vision is achieved through Employment Training Workshops, 48-week Life Skills programs, long-term Alumni engagement, and young adult (Real World) and children’s programs. But the work does not stop there. Behind the curtain are staff, board members, donors, volunteers, employers, and partner organizations that believe in their Wake County community and ensuring that everyone has access to opportunities to thrive.

The values of StepUp Ministry are the heartbeat of our work: We believe that lives are changed through God’s love and grace; we are guided by the needs of our participants; we are careful stewards of all relationships and resources in our care; we seek and value diversity, inclusiveness, equality, accountability and collaboration; and we joyfully celebrate efforts and successes.
